PERSONAL DATA

  1. What type of information do we collect?

Personal information such as name, address, phone number, email and date of birth. We collect this data only if it is related to specific activities, such as membership, campaigns, feedback, surveys or subscriptions to electronic newsletters. You do not have to disclose any such data if you do not wish to.

MarViva Foundation collects nonpersonal information such as IP address (the unique address that identifies a device on the internet), accessed pages and downloaded files. This helps us determine how many individuals use our site; how many people visit it regularly; which pages are the most popular and which are not. This information does not disclose any of your private data to us; it simply allows us to monitor and improve our service.

  1. Where will we host this data?

Personal data obtained with your consent is stored in our databases in Costa Rica. We pledge that Fundación MarViva will not share the information you shared with us with any other organization, unless you specifically authorize us. See below for membership terms.

  1. Data from children under the age of 18

If you are under the age of 18, be sure to obtain permission from your parent or legal guardian before sending us any information about yourself or anyone else (name, address, email, etc.) online. We encourage parents to engage with their children and share the potential of conservation together.

  1. Your rights to access information

At any time, you may request from us a copy of your personal data that we hold.
